I am saddened by the passing of Matthew Perry. I am a fan of Friends and read his autobiography. I also loved him in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. May he rest easy.
Check him out in three episodes of The West Wing (Seasons 4 and 5). He plays Joe, a Republican hired as White House counsel. Not a spec of Chandler in his performance. He's even better looking somehow, all the women in the Bartlett Administration are crushing on him but he doesn't know. Because it's Aaron Sorkin, there's a LOT of dialog and, watching it now, it's amazing that he was able to handle all of this while drinking as much as he was.
