Calendar Girl
1) How will you keep track of your days/weeks in 2025? Do you have a desk planner? A wall calendar? A pocket planner? Do you use the app on your phone? I have a desk blotter/calendar at school but use the app on my phone mostly
2) Consider your typical week. Which day tends to be your busiest? Mondays and Wednesdays
3) This week's artist, Neil Sedaka, is one of pop music's most prolific singer-songwriters, but his first love was classical music. He was so good that he trained at Julliard and won the accolade, "Best New York High School Pianist." Recall one of your passions from your high school years. I was heavily involved with the drama club--I was either acting or stage managing and I loved both
4) Elton John has always enjoyed Sedaka's music and in the 1970s, when Elton was one of the world's top stars, he requested a meeting. If you had the power to contact and then meet anyone in the world, who would you choose? so my gut instinct is George Clooney; however, it might be fun to meet with a favorite author
5) Sedaka appeared as the musical guest during the second season of Saturday Night Live. What's the most recent show you watched on TV? Was it live, from your dvr, or did you stream it? I don't think I've watched anything since Big Brother ended and I streamed that
6) His daughter Dara sings on TV and radio commercials. What advertising jingle sticks in your head? I was teaching about unions and sang the jingle "Look for the Union Label" so I guess that's the most recent jingle
7) In 1960, when "Calendar Girl" was popular, To Kill a Mockingbird was first published. Have you read it? yes! It's a favorite
8) Also in 1960, John F. Kennedy, Jr. was baptized in the Georgetown University Chapel. His godparents were Charles and Martha Bartlett, the couple who introduced his famous parents. Do you have any godchildren? yes--my eldest sister's eldest daughter
9) Random question -- Which did you enjoy more: the last week of 2024 or the first week of 2025? I'm going with the first week of 2025 although both were good

I just listened to an interview with Sean O'Brien. He said he is starting a podcast where he will be talking to real people about real issues. My husband is in the Labor Union. We have really great insurance. I love that you teach about unions. I don't think they do that here. They also teach more about Native Americans in Oklahoma than they do here in MO. These things are important.
I would love to meet you too. We would have so much to talk about.
That union label jingle … my younger sister was in a junior high production of “The Pajama Game”, which involves union activities. The drama teacher used the jingle from the commercial in the play, had the whole cast sing it .,.
I love a desk blotter calendar....but I'm going to have to do a lot better at keeping my desk clear to make having one worthwhile.
I haven't thought of that union label song in years!
Calendars are very personal things.
So few garments are produced here I'm afraid that if I were to "look for the union label," I'll be searching long and hard and fruitlessly. You and I seem to be the only women wise enough to use the opportunity presented by #4 wisely. ;)
#4 Why doesn’t George Clooney surprise me.
#6 Many of my friends are union members, a friend who took me to the Capitol is a member of the Carpenter union.
#8 We seem to be the only godparents on Sat 9.
