Thanksgiving

1) What teacher are you most thankful for and why?  What did you learn from him or her? I got my love of travel from my 7th grade social studies teacher, Mr. Smith--when I was traveling in Belgium I sent him a postcard from the Atomium because all the information he taught me about it popped into my head and I wanted him to know he inspired me.

2) What’s the season you’re most thankful for, and what’s your favorite part of each season? I'm most thankful for autumn because it's glorious here in Northern Maine--the colors, the temperatures, the crispness in the air.  I'm thankful in summer for the flowers and the temperature changes when wandering in the woods.  I'm thankful for spring because it's warming up and the snow is melting.  My favorite part of winter is the snow at the holidays--it makes the lights look extra special.

3) What electronic device are you most grateful for, and what does it add to your life? the internet--it connects me to people, books, streaming, art, music, shopping

4) What musician or type of music are you most thankful for? I will admit that Christmas music is my favorite kind of music

5) What are you most grateful for that brings beauty to your daily life? I am grateful for my car, I love it and I love the safety I feel driving it

6) What philanthropic cause or organization do you feel thankful for? there are so many!

7) What foods are you most thankful for? Chex mix and potatoes, coffee, chocolate, bread, and salad

8) What local store or restaurant are you most grateful for?  How does it contribute to your quality of life? I love my local grocery store because the owners are mindful of organic, vegan, non-gmo, gluten free, whole foods and stock a variety of options

9) What book are you most grateful for, and why? I'm going with the Louise Penny Three Pines series because the characters are people I want in my life and I want to live in the community

10) What act of kindness has made the greatest difference in your life? one that stands out was when my friend Louise and I were last in New York City, I was having a lymphedema flare and my ankles were very swollen and sore, walking distances was difficult--she insisted I elevate, rest, and then went out to do a couple of errands and brought back my favorite bakery's delicious chocolate croissant

11) What challenging experience has ended up changing your life for the better? pulmonary emboli--that whole experience makes me appreciate something every single day.  I am lucky to be alive.

12) What vacation are you most grateful for? the vacation I took with my dad that solidified our adult relationship--we went to the Netherlands, Belgium, and France for two weeks

13) Name three days in your life that you feel especially grateful for. yesterday, today, and tomorrow

14) What product do you use on a daily basis that you most appreciate? I love my perfume: Philosophy's Live Joyously

15) What, from this year, do you feel most grateful for? I am grateful that my family is healthy

I just started reading Louise Penny this year and I enjoy those books, too. But I am very far behind and my library doesn't seem to have all of the books available. Guess I should stick those on my Christmas list for Santa.

I agree - Autumn in Maine is beautiful (I was further south than that but close enough).

I need to revisit some time.
