When I heard boys chanting, "Grab her by the pussy!" at a girls' soccer game, I knew I wanted to be involved. I needed to claim the word pussy, even though it makes me uncomfortable. Knitting as part of Pussyhat Project is my way of taking part. Plus I feel like I'm supporting and encouraging my niece.

It's sad that such an offensive word is going to become common. But maybe that is what we should do with these words. Take the sting out!
The hat is beautiful, but it hurts to think that the newly-elected POTUS has made it acceptable for boys to chant that at a soccer game. That simply is, to borrow from HRC, deplorable.
I admire your involvement. I admit I don't know where I'm going in this regard. I don't want to protest Donald Trump before he even takes the oath, I want to give the office the same respect I always have, but it's so hard.
