project peace

“Peace...this we choose each day.”

— Anonymous

Today is the official start of Project Peace. An exercise in mindful, peaceful knitting--with 16,000 like-minded others. I'm dithering about my yarn choice but my intention is ready. Every day of the Project, the host, Christina of The Healthy Knitter will have peace tips and thoughts. I joined in the Ravelry Group and have made contact with other knitters from Maine.

Today's nuggets are:
  • Define peace...what is it? what does it look like? what does it smell like? what does it feel like?
  • How can you choose peace?
  • Name one thing that you would like to make happen during the next 21 days.

So I'm going to kick these questions around and will post more after reflection.

Very nice, I'd like to follow up on this to join, as long as I don't need to do another project. How not to have peace, too many knits to do. But I am finishing one and I have some simple hats for Christmas gifts, so that will help. There must be a link between simplicity and peace. I think I'm ever striving for both (which is an oxymoron in itself). But mindfulness is a good wayto start to finding peace. A good start. What would I like to see in the next 21 days? Answering that involves political talk (which I'm tired of) and hopeless hope about a particular recount (impossible). Perhaps just focusing on my own life and pursuits (especially knitting) just gives me peace. Peace if it had a color would be white, like snow and sound like it does when the snow falls, deadening all sound, like it is now. I think I answered everything backwards! Here's my blog for today and thanks for the peaceful inspiration.http://lovelyyarnescapes.blogspot.com/2016/12/friday-free-patterns.html

Just to add to my note, regardless of my other knitting projects this cowl for Project Peace looks worth it. If I can I'll try to do it. Thanks for the inspiration!

I passed on the news in my blog today and mentioned your blog also - http://lovelyyarnescapes.blogspot.com/2016/12/simply-saturday-project-peace.html. I'm doing mine in January to cultivate more peace, The cowl is lovely, and I love reading the blog posts at "The Healthy Knitter". Thanks
