musing mondays

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying about it.
• What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

Currently, I'm reading Chestnut Street by Maeve Binchy. I was excited to get my hands on it because it is posthumously published. It is a series of short stories, sketches, and vignettes that are linked by their relationship to Chestnut Street in Dublin, Ireland. They span years of the author's career. I'm enjoying the book but feel sad that Ms. Binchy is no longer with us to spin such wonderfully rich tales. I believe I've read everything she's written and consider her a favorite author.

I just finished this on Sunday--I really liked it, but I wished that some of the chapters were complete books because the characters were so interesting!

So glad to hear you enjoyed Maeve Binchy's posthumous book; she was a fantastic story teller.

It is sad when you know all the books have been written and the author is gone. I have several favorites that are that way.
