musing mondays

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying about it.
• What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

Now that the holiday season is rolling around, I like to read or re-read some of my favorite holiday stories. I enjoy Dickens' A Christmas Carol, Ann Pearlman's The Christmas Cookie Club, John Grisham's Skipping Christmas, and Fannie Flagg's A Redbird Christmas. I like the Chicken Soup for the Soul series' holiday compilations. And lots of other sentimental stories.

I usually don't enjoy re-reading books, and have drawn a blank when answering that question in the past--it wasn't until today that I realize I re-read holiday stories.

Any other recommendations for holiday reads?

I do read. In fact I have a favorites shelf with the books I read read most often.

I don't make a point of reading holiday-themed books at Christmas time--but the opposite is true, too. I'm not against reading a Christmas story in the summer if that's when I find it!

"Merry Ex-mas" by Sheila Roberts. I love reading Sheila Roberts books, and I must admit I like some of her books better than others. However I am usually never disappointed by any of her books, and I wasn't disappointed by this book either, I really liked it.

With all the exes roaming around throughout the book it made for a fun and entertaining few days of reading. But in the end, it all worked out. Some found happiness, and others disappointment, however, which ones found which was where the fun began. Just imagine this... your ex is moving in with you and your family for a few days with his new arm candy wife, and her snippy little dog. Now, set back and watch the feathers hit the fan...It was just a fun, and funny story to read.
