ten things tuesday / day 5

Combining the prompt of the March Challenge with my Ten Things Tuesday for the week: Favorite movies I never get sick of watching.

1) Elf. I watch this multiple times during the holiday season.

2) When Harry Met Sally. My go-to New Year's Eve film. I always watch it to usher in the new year.

3) Moonstruck. I don't even know why I connected to this movie the way I did but this is one of my favorites. I love Cher.

4) The Princess Bride. I never pass up a chance to watch it. Such a classic, quotable movie!

5) Love, Actually. Another rom-com that I never pass up a chance to watch. Especially around Thanksgiving.

6) Jeremiah Johnson. Robert Redford is a mountain man. "He's a fine figure of a man."

7) Glory. I've watched this film multiple times every year, with my American History classes. It never gets old.

8) The Sound of Music. A family favorite, particularly because I made my stage debut in the play version as Gretel when I was five. I know all the dialogue and all the songs.

9) The Ocean's films: Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen... although Thirteen is the weakest of the bunch. They are fun heist romps with some of the most beautiful men on earth. I can feel the fun they had making them.

10) Toy Story. A wonderful animated movie with enough adult humor to keep me interested.

Pretty cool list! What are your thoughts on the historical accuracy of Glory? I've always loved that movie.

It's funny that you included Jeremiah Johnson. I consider myself the lay priestess of all things Redford and yet that one leaves me cold. (No pun intended.) In his bio, he says he's very proud of it. So I'm willing to say the fault is mine.

When Cher is good, when the role matches her unique talents, she is awesome.

Never seen Elf or Princess Bride. I must be living under a rock.
