day 29

What is your favorite time of year and why?

I kind of have two answers for this. My favorite time of year is autumn. This is the view out my kitchen window: Who wouldn't love that radiance? Living in Northern Maine we have a gorgeous autumn--when the sun shines it is warm but it's still crisp enough that a light sweater is needed in the morning or evening. There is an earthy smell because of the harvesting of local potato crops. The last greens of summer are glorious.

My second answer is The Holiday Season. I truly make the period of time between Thanksgiving and New Year a magical time. Although, truth be told, I start listening to holiday music right around Halloween. But it's a time for shiny lights and packages. For cheer. It really is the most wonderful time of the year. I love the decorations, the hokey TV shows, the ugly sweaters, and the festive air.

So, I don't know if the Holiday Season counts as a season or not, but it is my favorite time of year. Although of the four seasons I prefer autumn.

What a beautiful view. Our trees don't get nearly that vibrant. I really want to see the North East coast during autumn.

That is such a lovely view! It seems like Autumn is a lot of people's favourite season. It's mine, too :)

Fall is also my favorite season.

I miss the smell of burning leaves in the autumn air.

What a great pic! And I vote Autumn, too. I'm always so happy to see my sweaters again, and I love watching the trees. I always want to enjoy the holidays, but they always seem to be fraught with so much drama!
