musing mondays

This week’s musing, courtesy of http://readbookswritepoetry.blogspot.in, asks:

• What attracts you to a book blog? What puts you off in a book blog? Do you share personal stuff on your book blog?

I don't have a book blog. I have a personal blog that sometimes talks about books.

I enjoy book blogs. I like to learn about different books--especially because there are so many I have never heard about until the blog. What puts me off are the overly detailed book descriptions.

I like short and to the point reviews. And I hate word verification on blogs, that almost puts me off to leaving comments.

This past weekend, when I was at our local book fair, I thought of you and perused the tables for Gone Girl. Couldn't find it, but that's not the point. Your blog has influenced by book choices.

Yes! An overly detailed description of the book ruins the reading experience for me. I dislike that too.
