just finished reading...

GREAT BOOK!!! I loved it! It took a couple of chapters for me to get into it but I loved this book. Rich story telling, incredible detail, and authentic characters.

from Geraldine Brooks' website:
Inspired by the true story of a mysterious codex known as the Sarajevo Haggadah, People of the Book is a sweeping adventure through five centuries of history. From its creation in Muslim-ruled, medieval Spain, the illuminated manuscript makes a series of perilous journeys: through Inquisition-era Venice, fin-de-siecle Vienna, and the Nazi sacking of Sarajevo.

Sounds great. I love inspired by history fiction.

Reminds me in scope of The Source by James Michener which follows the Hebrew people living on a certain plot of land in Israel from the beginning up to the 1970s. Was amazing.
