I had to teach all day today because the student teacher wasn't feeling well and I finally told her to go home. She valiantly tried teaching the first class but the plan was so weak and it went so disastrously I told her to go home. When she first told me she wasn't feeling well and what her plan for the day was, I knew it wouldn't work but I decided to let her try it on her own with no feedback so she could sink on her own. It's time to let her sink or swim. And I'm disappointed that she's not impressing me. I've been working so hard... *sigh*

It was tough to teach a full day again but I proved to myself that I am good because I was able to pull it all together and teach, even from no plan. And the students were glad to have me back, that made me feel good, too.

I'm glad you believe in yourself and your abilities, but even better, I'm glad you were disappointed that the student teacher wasn't better. It's unfortunate, but common, for mentors to really want their students to do badly and need them. It's wonderful that you want her to succeed.
