earth day... every day
April 22, 2008 is the official Earth Day. Get ready for this event by making a visit to the official Web site of the Earth Day Network, that 'reaches over 17,000 organizations in 174 countries, while the domestic program engages 5,000 groups and over 25,000 educators coordinating millions of community development and environmental protection activities throughout the year.' You'll find information on the world's water, on Earth Day activities around the world and also on the Earth Day Network ongoing projects. This site is designed to increase public awareness of environmental issues and provide opportunities for individuals and communities to get involved. Here's your opportunity to celebrate Earth Day and find out how you can be instrumental in preserving our 'Mother Earth!'

I get sad when conservatives sometimes laugh and/or scoff at a mention of the environment. I think it's primarily because they hate Al Gore. They don't care to think about one of America's leading environmentalists -- Theodore Roosevelt -- who just happened to be a conservative REPUBLICAN!!!! The man knew how important it was to CONSERVE the environment. Hmmm... a conservative conserving the environment... where have Republicans, for the most part, gone wrong?
