holidailies

I joined a new challenge called Holidailies... to blog every day from December 1st until January 1st.

Today's question is: Tell us a story about snow.

This never, ever happens but school was canceled for tomorrow tonight! Last year we didn't have any snow days but this is the first major storm of the winter season--and we're getting dumped upon.

But, for a real story: I grew up in an idyllic neighborhood. Very 1950s stereotypical, even though it wasn't the 1950s. All the neighbors had kids the same age as my sisters and me so there were lots and lots of kids in the neighborhood. We would sled together, with Krazy Karpets and flying saucers, we would build forts and stay outdoors until we couldn't feel our feet. But the tunnels... the network of tunnels were the best, the very best of us. The snowbanks were as high as the telephone wires and we would jump and slide and holy moly, that was back in the day that winter was fun.
