Graduation soaked by water balloon prank

NEWARK, N.J., June 20 (UPI) Dozens of seniors at a New Jersey high school protested their exclusion from graduation exercises after a campus water balloon fight went awry.
About 30 Woodbridge High School students were told they won't be allowed to attend graduation Thursday because they took part in an outdoor water balloon fight that became a slippery mess when it moved inside the building, the Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger reported Wednesday.
About 60 teens are believed to have participated in the 5- to 10-minute water balloon war but several of those suspended say they were minding their own business in the hallway when the action moved indoors.
The parents of those banned from the ceremony were rebuffed when they tried to persuade school administrators to reconsider the decision, the newspaper said.
Meanwhile, many of the students protested the decision outside the school.
Superintendent Vincent Smith declined to comment when approached by the Star-Ledger.
