Chillin'

Not only am I chillin' but the weather is, too. Finally some relief from the heat and humidity. Now it's time for rain. Rain, rain and rain. What would summer at the Top Of Maine be like without at least one whole week of rain? I'm glad it's in the 60s and 70s, that's definitely my range. Take out the humid, add a little sun and I'm a happy happy gal.

I've chilled to the world lately, too. After hearing that Israel and Lebanon are bombing the hell out of each other, I stopped listening. It's the weirdest thing to not follow all the stories and breaking news closely but I simply cannot stomach the idea that people are intentionally killing each other. For what end? Here in the States, abortion, which is a medical procedure, is frowned upon but bombing the hell out of each other and hiring soldiers (professional or insurgent) to kill is acceptable? Talk about collateral damage. Isn't part of the point of warfare to intimidate and threaten the opponent? Imagine living in a war zone, some of these people have only known that experience. So, I turn the TV and news off. I stop listening and watching.

Maybe it's my own new-found respect and honor for life, but I just can't watch and listen. It's too much. And then President Bush gives a back rub to the German Chancellor... holy moly... what the heck is that man thinking? Is he trying to avert our attention to the fact that he talks smack in open microphones (and I do not believe for one single second he didn't know the mics were on) and then he massages the German Chancellor's shoulders... I mean, how come not Tony Blair or Puti-putin?? Clinton gets crap for consensual contact but Bushie gets mocked? What, what, what... off. Turn it off. Off.

Focus on David Hasslehoff or Brangelina. Ahh, that's right... Hassel the hoff... Where is Suri Cruise?

Don't think about the millions of people who are afraid they're going to be wiped off the face of the earth or that today is their last. Hassle the hoff....Brangie... Must have Big Brother 7, My Fair Brady, Rock*Star SuperNova...

What if this is as good as it gets?

I stopped watching the news years ago. It's just all too much for me. Life is more sacred than any religous or political stance. They need to just get over themselves and stop acting like 9 year olds.

However I'm not watching ANY of that stuff. YUCK! :P

You need to broaden your horizons and step into the world of reality TV. It's fun, addicting and laughable!
