what's your life challenge?

Your Life's Challenge is Being Fickle

The whole world is open to you. You are a smart person with many resources and opportunities.

You've lucked out a lot in life. Things always seem to go your way, and you've had many successes.

You may be surprised to learn that you are standing in the way of more success by being a bit too irresponsible and flaky.

If you stuck to things a bit longer, you would rule the world. You have much more in you than you even realize.

Hey Jealousy

1. When was the last time that you got jealous? uhmmmmm... I don't really remember, I'm not a very jealous person

2. At what point do you finally decide it's time to move forward with your life (like, major changes)? How do you know? What do you do? well, this is something I talk about in therapy... I don't know how I know, I just know

3. When is it time to just let it ('it' can be whatever you choose) go? How do you know? What do you do? I let it go with fondness

4. How many times must someone push your buttons before you've just had enough? Why? it feels like too many times--but I have a LOT of patience, professionally speaking... with family, not so much

5. If I S/O were to cheat on you, could you ever see yourself giving them a second chance? Or a third? I doubt it, it would be symptomatic of something significantly imbalanced

6. What was the last thing that someone did that you were very grateful for? a student in my honors class made me chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting for Teach Appreciation Week

7. How much time do you spend online in a given weekday? What about the weekends? too much, between work and home

8. How many online journals/blogs do you read regularly? What are some of your favorites and why? 9 that I read daily, although I need to comment more often on some of them... my favorites are in my blogroll because they are as good as it gets

9. What was the last major purchase that you made? I don't know what classifies as major--either my GPS or my TV

it woke me up...

Chinese food + 2 glasses of wine = lesson learned.

the kwizgiver game

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more Since I won The Gal's Challenge, I thought I would post one myself... and still borrowing from the Gal: See if you can respond to these completely Kwiz-Centric questions correctly. While there may not be one right answer, some answers will undoubtedly be right-er. The decision of the judge (me) will be final.

1) What European country is Kwizgiver's all-time favorite? (bonus points if you know why)

2) How many tattoos does Kwizgiver have?

3) What was the last class that Kwizgiver took? (bonus points if you know where)

4) What is Kwizgiver's favorite song?

5) How does Kwizgiver waste time online, other than blogging?

6) Kwizgiver comes across $50 in found money. That's cash, with no strings attached. What will she do with it? (borrowed from The Gal)

7) If Kwizgiver was forced to eat one food forever, what would it be?

8) Kwizgiver took a road trip last September. What was the purpose of the trip?

9) What is Kwizgiver's favorite holiday?

10) Why is Kwizgiver called Kwizgiver?

thursday bug

Sometimes it helps to share with others what bugs your mind.
They may have a solution, a kind word, or a smile of encouragement.
This week my thursday bug is:

Having to give bad news.

today's the day...

Today is the day I broke the news to the Civil Rights Team members. They were shocked. A couple of them had heard through the grapevine, but weren't sure what to think. The Student Council is also going to mention it when they make a presentation to the School Board on the 19th. One of the kids asked if it was me who wanted to stop working with the Civil Rights Team but I assured them that is not the case. Another Team member wants to speak at the next school board meeting, too. I told them my hands are tied but that there is a time for the public to speak in the forum.

Again, it was a bittersweet day. We did plan to have our year's end celebration. That's the good news.

are you easily disgusted?

You Are Easily Disgusted

The world is a revolting place, and you can't help but be disgusted by it.

You try to have a thick skin, but sometimes your stomach ends up doing flips when something gross crosses your path.

There's nothing wrong with feeling a little queasy. It's your body's way of protecting itself.

Try to acknowledge your feelings but also to still be tough. You should be able to help someone who is bleeding without getting sick yourself.

idol chatter...

Sinatra night on Idol with mentor-deliciousness in the form of Harry Connick, Jr. Harry was charming. He was funny. He was cool. And he worked out some great arrangements. Tonight, Aaron fell short. I think it's youth and inexperience--that he just was too young for Sinatra's swagger. Casey was just okay. Mike was actually pretty good, not too smarmy. Crystal was better than Mike but not great. Great belongs to Lee. Once again, I really liked Lee. I even voted.

never a dull moment...

This piece of equipment I take for granted. It's the handle on my door at school. Today, it broke. My class was trapped in the room for about twenty minutes while custodians took the hinges off and pried the door off with a crowbar. The kids were pretty wound up. Most of them were missing their lunch period. I was missing my planning period. Bah.

Ok, it really is kinda funny.

squish...

Today was mammogram day. Joy. Actually, it wasn't that bad, they have a new machine that does better imaging and the whole process was much faster than usual.

It's going to be a great trip down Bittersweet Lane as the Civil Rights Team gets on the bus for our final trip to State Convention. The Attorney General's Office has hinted that this is the best conference they've had in years with a wide variety of diverse workshops. Makes this all the more bittersweet. I still haven't had the heart to tell the kids, and I doubt I will until the trip is over. Why ruin it for everyone? I'm just glad this wonderful group of kids is getting to go. I couldn't have handpicked a better group to go. It's going to be a lot of fun. And bittersweet.

the script...

Love this band, love this song.

bliss...

After the shittastic week I had, it's nice to just chill out this weekend. Breakfast with the group was just what I needed--I vented and was completely supported. After that, I bumped into my bestie at the grocery store and we shopped and talked. Now I'm hanging around watching Top Chef Masters. I feel a nap in my future. I'm shedding the week and gaining some perspective. I am feeling better.
