1. If you could go back to any age, which would you choose and why? I would return to 22, but I wouldn't want to stay there for too long, just to re-experience some of the best days of my life

3. Define a "good" or "successful" life. I think a "good" or "successful life is one filled with purpose, people, curiosity, laughter, and enough little joys to make even an ordinary day feel special

4. What's the best compliment you've ever received? the other evening I was at dinner and the waitress was a former student and she told me how much she loved having me as a teacher--and that her daughter loved having me as a teacher, too

5. What's the most valuable thing your parents taught you? This, too, shall pass.
