Ten things I'm grateful for in my ordinary life:
1) Since I broke my foot, I have had to be vulnerable and ask for help. I am grateful that I have strong enough friendships that people are willing to help me. As I talk to myself about this, I remind myself that I would do the same for them.
2) I am grateful for my daily bubbly beverage. I've been going between Waterloo Lemon Lime water, Topo Chico Raspberry Lime water, or Polar Orange Dry diet soda. They are a light, refreshing treat. And sometimes I just want bubbles!
3) I am grateful for the changing seasons. There is always something beautiful to look at. I know I grumble and whine about winter, but it is a sight to behold.
4) I am grateful that I can cook decent meals. I need to build up my repertoire.
5) I am grateful that I have time to heal.
6) I am grateful that I have a cozy apartment with a kind landlord.
7) I am grateful that I can amuse myself by reading book reviews and adding to my TBR.
8) I am grateful for afternoon naps and lazy days.
9) I am grateful that I will spend quality time with my sisters. It's going to look different since I can't do the running around I traditionally do, but we'll spend quality time together.
10) I am grateful for this annual fall vacation. I feel like I can recharge to make it to Thanksgiving.

#1: You've mentioned how important your independence is to you, so I can only imagine how difficult this has been for you. I think it's cool that you see it as an opportunity for growth. #3: You sound like my favorite grandma! #6: Glad you have a comfortable, peaceful place to recuperate.
