So, I'm learning a lot from my broken foot. And, ironically, today's prompt is about slowing down.
I started the school year full-steam ahead! Ready to conquer what comes my way. Busy on the weekends. Busy during the week. Busy, busy, busy.
Now that I've broken my right foot, I am unable to drive. And the sense of dependence is making me face my issues surrounding vulnerability and asking for help.
Being incapacitated is different than choosing. Knowing my car is sitting out in the lot, waiting for me, is harder than choosing to not drive somewhere.
So this is the universe telling me to slow down. To allow others to help me.
On Wednesday I will meet with the orthopedic surgeon to learn more about my injury and recovery plan. Fingers crossed I will not need surgery, and the boot is enough. Until then, I am living slowly.

You are having a rough year. Tip: make sure someone starts your car at least once a week if you're not using it and maybe have them drive it around. When I had surgery and my car sat for a while (a) the battery died and (b) mice built a nest in the engine.
