I am...

Reading The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides

Listening to The Running Grave by Robert Galbraith

Loving:   I reconnected with some most excellent high school friends.  It makes me feel nostalgic yet fills me with so much love.

Thinking:  I am so glad I talked myself into attending my 40th high school reunion.  Not only was 40 a milestone year, but it was a true celebration of lifelong friends.  I picked up where I left off with several people as if no time had passed.  (I didn't attend my 30th reunion, so it was 20 years since I'd seen many of them.)

Feeling:  nostalgic

Celebrating:  lifelong friendships

Grateful for:  small talk skills, although after three hours I was exhausted

Enjoying:  my plans for today include going out to dinner with a group of former students!

Weather:  it is 66° and cloudy

A quote I want to share:
  • Someday many years from now
We'll sit beside the candles glow
    Exchanging tales about our past
And laughing as the memories flow
And when that distant day arrives
I know it will be understood
That friendship is the key to live
And we were friends and it was good.

I'm glad your reunion turned out to be a pleasant and affirming experience. Friendships of 40 years! That deserves celebration.
