April 8th:  Who is your favorite fictional detective? Why?

Armand Gamache is a true Renaissance man, a native of Quebec, and Chief Inspector of the Surete of Quebec.  He is thoughtful and deliberate.  He embodies love and loyalty but has a strong moral core.  I love how Louise Penny describes the lines on his face, it's a face I would like to hold in my hand.
