Christmas 2023

1. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?  In 2012, I bought myself a recliner

2. What is the worst Christmas gift you’ve ever received? In 2022, I was in quarantine 

3. Do you have a favorite Christmas song? I'm still humming/singing The Holiday Season

4. Does your family have any favorite holiday traditions? my father's community concerts

5. What is your favorite Christmas snack? Chex mixes in all of its iterations

6. Did you believe in Santa growing up? the year my mum died I was told about Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and any other imaginary character

7. How early do you start decorating? I put my mini-tree up at school November 29 and my little tree at home December 15

8. Are you an early or last-minute shopper? more of when I see it I get it--so I guess early

9. Would you rather give or receive gifts? I so seldom receive gifts that it truly delights me, so I guess I like receiving--although I love finding just the right gift for the recipient, so I like giving

10. What’s your favorite Christmas movie? Elf --everything about my experience with this movie makes me happy. When the movie came out in 2003, I saw it at the movie theater with my Sociology class. You read that right. My entire class of seniors met at the theater to watch the film. We took up three rows of seats--including the younger siblings of some of the students. It was a full audience and it was an ideal movie audience. Ever since that magical experience of going to see it, the movie has been my favorite.

11. What is one of your Christmas memories? Going to the movies with my Sociology class (see above)
