Students return tomorrow! So here are ten goals for the upcoming school year.
1) Connect with my students so they feel comfortable exploring ideas.
2) Encourage my department to stop letting students write their own test questions. That isn't valid or reliable. 😕
3) Organize my bookshelves.
4) Learn Excel/Sheets.
5) Keep up with grading.
6) Re-write my syllabi to reflect having two trimesters instead of three.
7) Nominate students for every opportunity to grow--such as the Youth Senate Scholarship Program.
8) Be the best new-teacher mentor possible!
9) Learn the ins and outs of being a department chair.
10) Read at least two professional development books.
