Ten ways to spend my summer vacation:
1) A trip to Virginia to visit my sisters. Virginia sister and I are making arrangements to spend some time with Pennsylvania sister, too.
2) Read. I'm going to make a list of books I plan to read to meet a reading challenge.
3) Party planning. My dad's retiring from playing the organ at the Catholic Church for 72 years. No, that's not a typo, it's 72 years! My sisters and I are planning a retirement party.
4) Knit. My dishcloth stash is depleted.
5) Organize my living room with my sister's help. Our keyword will be RUTHLESS! Everything goes!
6) Work for the Department of Education to revise the state's social studies learning results. Sounds deadly but is actually quite interesting. Plus I get to collaborate with teacher-friends from all around the state.
7) Girlfriend getaway! Probably mid-July.
8) Nap. Well, I always want to nap but seldom do. I want to rest.
9) Hit the Farmer's Market and the Flower Cart for fresh foods and flowers.
10) Have little adventures. I mean, I've got a big adventure with #1, so I need some little one-day things to do, too.

72 years! That's terrific.
You reminded me: I want to look into day trips on Amtrak.
