This Night Won't Last Forever

1) This song begins with, "Everybody likes a celebration." Do you have any birthdays or anniversaries coming up on your calendar? October is filled with wonderful events!  A nephew's wedding, my sisters' vacations, a visit with my Oklahoma niece, and my birthday

2) The lyrics tell us Michael Johnson is stuck at a party while his heart is breaking. He finds it awkward and painful to pretend there's nothing wrong. Are adept at "putting a good face on it?" Or is it easy for others to tell how you're feeling? I think I put a good face on it

3) Michael feels like this is going to be a long night. Is there a part of your day when time tends to drag? Or when it flies? when I'm at school time drags if my class(es) isn't engaged in the activity and it flies when I'm working during my planning period

4) As bad as he feels right now, he's still hopeful about tomorrow. What are you looking forward to for Sunday? a day of rest

5) When he was 13, Michael taught himself to play the guitar. He went on to take formal lessons and mastered classical guitar. What's something you would like learn more about/do better? I would like to be a better knitter--there is so much to learn

6) For a time he performed with a trio known as Denver, Boise & Johnson. The Denver was John. Do you have a favorite John Denver song? I am a big John Denver fan--and "Perhaps Love" is one of my favorites

7) He retired to Minneapolis to be near his adult daughter. But he never stopped performing entirely. For years he delighted loyal local fans with with an annual holiday concert on December 26 at Orchestra Hall. Is there a performer you've seen in concert more than once? I've seen James Taylor a few times

8) In 1979, when this song was popular, the cable channel ESPN launched. What's the last sporting event that you watched? it was a part of a Superbowl a couple of years ago because I wanted to see the halftime show

9) Random question: Do you play Wordle? daily

#4 I wish instead I have a 4 hour drive, at least I don't go by Foxboro and Gillette Stadium.
#8 I used to have Superbowl parties but then came COVID

I did so want to like knitting, but I do not. I prefer crocheting and I'm not very patient or good at that, but can manage it better. I have a friend who can knit anything.

Ditto to #2. I do not think people even think about how much time goes into lesson planning. It is crazy, then the lesson is over in a blink. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Well now I have to go listen to Perhaps Love, as I don't think I know this one. Have great rest of your weekend!

I'd love to see JT in concert. A friend of mine tells me his voice is pristine and that he's funny. Someone from the audience yelled, "I love you," and he responded, "That's because you don't know me."

Of course you play Wordle! I bet you kick ass, too.

How great that you have seen James Taylor. I have seen Carole King at a tribute concert in Los Angeles back in 2012. There were a lot of singers there singing her songs.

I think you can and do put "a good face on it". It's part of being such a good teacher, and dealing with Administrations! heehee As to knitting, stay AWAY from braided cables. lol
