sunday salon

Joining in Sunday Salon.

Yesterday was Independent Bookstore Day and my bestie and I celebrated by taking a trip to our favorite "local" bookstore.  Air quotes because local is a relative term as it's a 45-minute trip to get to.  There is a new bookstore in town but I'm not keen on the vibe it's got going or the layout of the store so I'll keep making the 90-minute trek.

One of the specials was a commemorative tote bag with three ARCs (advanced reader copies) categorized as women's fiction for $25.  I couldn't resist.  Three blind dates with books?  Heck ya! I'm a sucker for a tote and a blind date with a book.

We've set a goal of going to #22in22

I've got to admit, I don't tend to go for blind dates with books. I'm not adventurous enough, I guess. Hope you enjoy yours, however.

I'm so jealous of you guys with Indie Book Stores! We have two second hand book stores in town and a franchise. I shop the most at the franchise and they always help me to find books, so I am mostly very happy with them.

Seems like you girls did have a wonderful time though! Enjoy your new books.

I forgot about indie book day and a new bookstore just opened in my town last month, oops! I usually go to the city to Books-A-Million or to the Goodwill for used books. I need to check out my new store soon.
Love that tote bag! I haven't tried blind dates with a book but glad you got some good ones.

Glad you got to celebrate Indie Bookstore Day. I visited one of my favorites when we were in NYC last weekend, so I celebrated a week early!

I know how you feel, for over 20 years I lived about 45 min. drive to any store including bookstores. Now I only live about 25 minutes away.

I haven't been to a book event in so long :(

Indie book day! I should have visited the local one here. Shame on me.
