Moody Blue

1) This song was recorded in the special studio Elvis had built in the Jungle Room of Graceland. During the pandemic, have you made like Elvis and worked from home? there have been times when we've gone to remote school

2) Elvis sings that his girl is completely unpredictable. Which quality to you find more attractive: spontaneity or dependability? dependability

3) He only performed the song once in concert. In February 1977, shortly after the record was released, Elvis sang "Moody Blue" live in Charlotte, NC, but had to rely on lyric sheet. Crazy Sam can sympathize because she seems to forget passwords as soon as she sets them. Do you often struggle with your memory? as I get older, I am more like Sam and forget things routinely

4) "Moody Blue" was the final hit of Elvis' lifetime, only getting to #31 in the US but reaching #3 in the UK. What's your favorite Elvis song? it's hard to pick just one--today I'll go with Suspicious Minds (it was the first one I thought of)

5) We're focusing on Elvis this week because January 8 would be his 87th birthday. He enjoyed celebrating his birthday by renting the Memphis movie theater and watching the latest movie with an invited group of friends. What's your favorite way to celebrate your birthday? a nice meal out with friends and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting

6) For his 11th birthday, young Elvis asked for a rifle or a bicycle. His mother deemed the gun too dangerous and the bike too expensive and instead gave her son his first guitar. Tell us about a memorable birthday from your youth. I think the birthday that I got my Teddy Bear was memorable--Teddy was my very best friend

7) Elvis loved horses and kept them in the stable at Graceland. His favorite was a palomino named Rising Sun. To honor both horse and rider, Elvis' daughter has always kept a palomino in the stable whose name includes "sun." The current resident is Tuscan Sun. Known as "Tucky," he's lived at Graceland for more than 20 years now and is a favorite of Alene Alexander, who maintains the stable and reports he has "attitude and knows he's prettier than everybody else." Tell us about an animal who holds a place in your heart. my childhood dog, Mopsie--I would give anything to have a dog like her

8) Throughout his life, Elvis had trouble sleeping. As a preteen, he was a sleepwalker. As an adult, he battled insomnia. Is sleep an issue for you? I battled insomnia all throughout my adolescence and early adulthood.  My sleep habits now are making up for lost time!

9) Random question: Do you wear your shoes in the house? no

My Lassie dog was my favorite plush pal when I was growing up. Only I don't recall when or how I got her. She seems to have just always been there. She's in my closest somewhere right now.

I went with the first Elvis song that popped into my head, too. Like you, I enjoy so many of them.

#3 I get yelled at by the director of a senior center when I say that "I had a senior moment"
#5 That cake sounds delicious!

Your teddy bear! How nice! I love that story.
I always go right to your book list when I visit. I am thinking about reading It Ends with Us. I need to go read more about it. I considered It Started with a Dog too. Still deciding. I am excited about The Love Hypothesis. I think you have already read that one. Did you like it? Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Aw, that's so sweet about your Teddy bear. I don't seem to hear about kids having a special comfort toy like that very often these days. It seemed so common when we were kids.

I gave my great niece a Teddy bear for Christmas that I almost kept for myself, it was so soft and cuddly.

I always wanted a dog as a kid but my parents said that because my sister had allergies, we couldn't have a pet. When my sister moved out, first thing she did was to get a dog.

That cake sounds amazing! My grandgirls have their teddy bears that they call Teddy! The boys prefer blankets.

I also love dogs. We've had a lot of cats, too. But I like dogs ever so much better, on reason being that they are easier to take traveling. Someday I hope you can have a dog like Mopsie.

That CAKE! I want one now.. yum
