ten things tuesday

Ten things:

1)  I woke up to a social media shitstorm--a former student of mine (from about a decade ago) posted a few rambling posts to a "Concerned Citizens Outreach" group on Facebook about me and other teachers.  Libelous. Defamatory.  Shocking.  I felt sick to my stomach.  I cried.  Not the best way to start the day.  Fortunately, the group moderator took the posts down after they were reported by several people.  But still, damage done.

2)  At lunchtime today, a former student was intentionally fishtailing and drifting with his pickup and he scraped my car then drove off.  The witnesses reported it to the office and pictures were taken of the tire tracks, the scratches and paint on my car, and the whole scene.  I filed a police report and a claim with my insurance because he hit the bumper it's hard to tell what damage may have been done.

4) In his holiday greeting, the superintendent hinted that we might not be going back to school in person in the new year because of Covid and its variants.

5) Today was ugly sweater day but I got it confused with regular sweater day and wore a pretty Christmas sweater.

6) My headache went away.

7) I got some yarn in the mail.

8) I got a super-soft long-sleeved t-shirt in the mail today.

9) Tomorrow is a half-day of school if we have it. According to the Snow Day Calculator, there's a 79% chance of a snow day.

10) Today was hella. I'm ready for vacation.
