Ten random things:
1) My toothache is much, much better today. It's gone from an 8 or 9 on the pain scale to about a 2 or 3. Still room for improvement. But I'm not crying now. And I might even be able to sleep tonight! Sleepless nights due to pain are no fun, especially when half my face was aching and sore to the touch.
2) I've rediscovered a love of playing checkers. I've been playing with my friend Allen and he's witty and makes the games challenging.
3) My Virginia sister and her family will be here this weekend! I can't wait to hang out with them. I really miss my nieces. I text with my sister daily but not so often with the girls.
4) I shouldn't call them girls--they're in their 20s.
5) Today I downloaded the Kindle app on my school laptop and read during state testing. Definitely made the time pass faster.
6) I am genuinely looking forward to next school year. A whole different set of challenges but maybe more normalcy.
7) Because I'll be glad to see the end of this school year. Definitely the most difficult year--with hybrid, asynchronous, sanitizing, constant reminders that masks go over your nose, social distancing, going remote, new administration, a completely new schedule, block scheduling, accelerated block scheduling, Zoom, "don't use Zoom," Google Meets, new learning management software--listen, the list goes on and on... Goodbye sucky school year!

Are you playing checkers virtually or in person?
I had dental work done yesterday, so I feel for you. I'm lucky in that I have no pain, but the lidocaine gave me diarrhea. No fun!
My niece is going to be 29 this fall. I just can't believe that reality.
