three on thursday

Thing one:  I may have overdone it this morning.  Walking through the entire grocery store (following arrows) tired me out!

Thing two: I was freaking out yesterday thinking that the gift I got for my parents wasn't a good choice, but you know what?  It is!

Thing three: I've decided to make a shepherd's pie for my comfort food Christmas meal.

That is one of the weirdest things about recovery, isn't it? You're completely fine when you have your feet up and a pillow behind your head, so you decide to DO something -- like grocery shop -- and then you find you're really not fine at all!

"Gift remorse" is common but you're right, it usually turns out to be unwarranted.

I love your ambition with shepherd's pie! My daring Christmas meal will be a roast beef sandwich. I've had precious little beef this month so I'm excited. But since mashed potatoes are indeed on my approved food list, I'm jealous of your menu.

Merry Christmas, Ms. Kwiz!

Grocery stores get me every time. I used to love shopping in the pre-pandemic days, but I find it exhausting and anxiety producing now....and I'm not post-op! Shepherd's Pie is a favorite around here, I hope you enjoy yours. We're having Osso Bucco (braised beef shanks), another favorite. Happy Christmas, my friend :)
