Star or Angel? star or bow

White Lights or Colored Lights? colored

Blinking Lights or Still Lights? twinkle, if I can find them

When do you open your gifts? if I'm by myself, whenever I want--if I'm with family when we settle down after eating

Do you buy gifts for your pet? I don't have my own pet but yes

Be honest: What's the worst gift you've ever gotten? I don't remember

Have you ever traveled for the holiday? no

Did you see Santa as a child? yes--he used to come to our house to read to us before bedtime on Christmas Eve

Can you name all the reindeer? yes

Have you ever gone caroling? yes

Do you drive around and look at the Christmas lights? usually on Christmas Eve, but I didn't this year

Have you ever left Santa cookies? yes--and carrots for the reindeer and a red cherry in case Rudolph's nose got tired

Have you ever had a white Christmas? almost always

Have you ever made a gingerbread house from scratch? From a kit? no to both

Be honest: Do you think the season is too commercial? for a lot of people, yes

Imagine you were going to create the quintessential holiday soundtrack -- which song(s) absolutely must be included? Burl Ives' Holly Jolly Christmas

What are your Christmas pet peeves? this year it's Covid changing my traditions

Covid messed things up for so many people.

You know, like you, I gifted pets in other households. Catnip toys went to my niece's fur children and my nephew's cat got gourmet food. (Alas, I didn't get a kiwi for his tortoise because, well, it's hard to mail a kiwi.) But I didn't shop for my two because I try to make every day special for them. Corny, I know, but true!

My dog (when I had one) got new stuffed pillows for her Igloo doghouse every year when it turned cold; I guess that was her present.

I rather enjoyed not having to deal with family this year. I know it will soon be the way of it as we age, so I don't want to wish for it too soon, but it was much less stress.

I've never heard of the cherry along with cookies and carrots. Cool.
