1. Tell us about any lawn or garden plans you have for this month. I don't have a lawn or a garden that I take care of

2. "Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there."~Thomas Fuller  What does this quote mean to you? Expect the unexpected

3. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God? Is God a man?  Does God have to be a man?

4. If we were chatting in person, how would I know if you were nervous. You wouldn't unless I told you

5. Do you like the color yellow? Would I find any in your home or wardrobe? no and no--it doesn't look good on me

6. Daffodils, tulips, roses, sunflowers, day lily, black-eyed Susan...which yellow bloom on this list is your favorite? all of them

7. Flip flops or bare feet? yes

8. Fish out of water, big fish in a small pond, living in a fishbowl, packed in like sardines, this is a fine kettle of fish, plenty of fish in the sea, fish or cut bait...which fishy phrase most recently applies to some area of your life? fish or cut bait--actually I said "Shit or get off the pot"

9. Have you ever been fishing? Did you catch a fish? If so did you keep it or throw it back? If you haven't been fishing is that something you'd like to try? I have been catch and release fishing and I did not enjoy it

10. What's something you're always fishing for in your purse, wallet, desk, or kitchen junk drawer? keys

11. Your favorite fish tale or movie? Big Fish or Finding Nemo

12. Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight or night? Explain why you chose your answer. I'll go with daylight because those hours are so precious during winter in Northern Maine

13. What's the oldest piece of clothing you own and still wear? oh lord, I don't know--I have jackets and coats that are decades old

14. What's been the best and worst part of your summer so far? The best is that I enjoyed sitting on the porch, reading; the worst is no road trips or visiting with my girlfriends on weekend getaways

15. Are you a Jimmy Buffet fan? If so, what's your favorite JB tune.  I'm not especially a fan--I don't dislike him--all I can think of are "Cheeseburger in Paradise" or "Margaritaville"

yes to porch sitting. DH and I sat in rare neighborhood quiet yesterday... just chatting, drinking a glass of wine, talking about where to move next. Then not talking and just being there together.
It has been too hot (close to 100 for weeks) or too cold (snow this past week) or too many idiot neighbors out to do that this summer. Yesterday was nice.
I enjoyed reading your answers as always

I keep my keys (and my train pass) in my pocket. It's the city girl in me. If someone steals my purse, I want to be able to get home. It never occurs to you that anyone would rip your purse off your arm, does it?

#3... No, God does not have to be a man. Wisdom, She is also considered a female God.

It's just the part that got carried forward by the MEN.

Here it's set forth clearly as the The Elohim say, in Genesis, that they will make man in their image and so they do, "male and female make they them". It's so darn clear and yet, here we are about 7,000 years later, still having this "sword over our heads" if we don't "obey".

I do not see "God" as flesh. God is all around me, in the air I breathe, in your heart, in my heart, in the stars and in the night. God is male and female, good and bad, for if God is truly a god, then God must encompass all and not be small. I find most religions have a small god. Their god is too little to encompass the vastness of the all, their god is in their own image and thus limited by their imaginations. My god is the universe, in all its totality, including the imagination and the things unimaginable. I do not want to worship a small god, so I worship everything, for God must be everything. (Sorry, no idea why that came out here on your blog, but there you go.)
