postsecret

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard. I like to post one that speaks to me each week.

I spoke to my downstairs neighbor about her 4th (or is he now 5th?) grade son. He hates remote learning. He can't concentrate. There's no one to help him. He misses his friends.

I spoke to my nephew about his online classes at WIU. It's difficult for him, too. Not enough interaction with his professors, and all his classes are pass/fail because papers and finals would be too hard for the school to handle. He feels cheated.

You've expressed your frustration at the high school level.

It seems NO ONE is thriving in this environment.

I'm sure you're doing the best you can, which is probably better than most teachers. It's not you. It's the situation. I hope you can relax a little and cut yourself some slack. It's a pandemic, a once-every-century thing. The important thing is to not to thrive, but to get through it.
