ten things tuesday

Ten questions: courtesy of EightPepperberries

1) Your ideal morning routine.  Ideally, waking up with no alarm and leisurely get up when I want to, wearing comfy clothes, fluffy hair, go out to breakfast with friends, good coffee, and no real agenda after.

2) What luck means to you.  Luck--when the universe conspires for or against me--in improbable ways.

3) A fictional character you'd like to switch places with. Reine-Marie Gamache: the wife of my favorite fictional detective and fictional boyfriend.

4) One thing you can't live without. Dunkin iced coffee--it's my daily ritual

5) The most important qualities in a friend. someone who lets me talk, I am known as a listener so sometimes I am talked over which makes me stop talking

6) How are you feeling today? it has been a challenging day, I had an awkward and uncomfortable meeting after school and have yet to shake it off.

7) Your favorite pet. my beloved childhood dog, Mopsie.  She really and truly was the best dog ever.

8) A family recipe.
 Italian Sausage Soup

8 ounces hot turkey Italian sausage link
2 cups low-sodium defatted chicken broth
14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes -- with oregano, basil & garlic
14 1/2 ounces canned cannelini beans -- rinsed and drained
2 cups spinach leaves -- baby
4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Heat a large saucepan over medium heat. Remove casings from sausage. Add sausage to pan, and cook about 5 minutes or until browned, stirring to crumble. Drain; return to pan.

Add broth, tomatoes, and beans to pan, and bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until beans are heated through. Remove from heat; stir in spinach until wilted. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.

9) Things you think should be banned. I'm going lighthearted:  fireworks after 9 at night, humidity, dry biscuits, and entitled people at the laundromat

10) A cause you are passionate about.  I am passionate about literacy and fluency.
