ten things tuesday

Ten things:

1) Last night I had a meltdown. I was trying to get comfortable in bed but my legs were so restless! I started bawling. Really, really melted down. I wanted to rip the bandages from my legs. I wanted to jump in the shower. I can't escape thinking about the compression--it is constant. I'd tried to be a good sport, to have a positive outlook but I needed a break. The Crocs are uncomfortable, the bandages are uncomfortable, not being able to wear my regular clothes is uncomfortable. So, after my meltdown, I took a Tylenol PM and finally got to sleep. When I woke up I had a much better attitude! I can do this! This discomfort and inconvenience is going to be so worth it!

2) I started working on lesson planning and have plans until February vacation.

3) I organized a voter registration drive at school. Sixteen-year-olds can pre-register and those 17 and over can vote in primaries in March and June. I'm hoping to get the kids involved.

4) I tried listening to my book group book for February 5th's meeting but I fell asleep. Oops. Hopefully, I can read it ok.

5) I realized that I won't be able to make it to my school book group meeting. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to reading it.

6) This morning I actually taught my students about scanning QR codes--they didn't know you just aim your phone's camera at it and it opens! They were impressed that I knew it.

7) I am so disappointed! Dad just called to ask if I was going over for taco soup supper. I already ate. I'm frustrated that I didn't get an email from him (he said he emailed me).

8) I ordered pizza and because it took a bit longer than usual to deliver, I got a freebie.

9) It's going to be sunny tomorrow! And 17 degrees. SUN!!!

10) A new word:

I am so sorry that you're suffering through your treatment. But it sounds like you have made real progress -- both physically and emotionally.

Free pizza is always the best pizza.
