ten things tuesday

Ten questions:

1) What is your word of the year and why? my word of the year is EVOLVE: develop gradually, especially from a simple to a more complex form because I want to be the best me possible

2) Which bad habits are you leaving in 2019? I would like to stop frivolous spending

3) If you had to give a TED talk tomorrow, what would it be about? I would give a motivational talk for teens--how to find your own path, how to not be too influenced by others

4) How did you start your day today? 😒 (ugh) today started with a sponge bath and washing my hair in the sink--I'm trying very hard to prevent the lymphedema bandages from getting wet, especially after last week's fiasco. I didn't realize it would take me so much longer to get cleaned up this way than it does when I shower.

5) Do you have a morning routine? I do--my routine is to wake up and take thyroid meds and doze for 30 minutes, then I get up and have breakfast and meds, then it's shower time, then I start my car, then I get dressed, and then I stop at Dunkin' for iced coffee on my way to school

6) Do you prefer going out or staying in? it kind of depends on with whom I'll be going--but when it's below zero I like to stay in

7) Is there a topic you want to learn more about? there are lots and lots of topics

8) How do you recharge? I spend time alone

9) Are you an early bird or a night owl? I am an early bird by profession

10) Are you currently pushing yourself to your full potential? I am trying to step out of my comfort zone by embracing my word of the year

I know how distressing it must be to have those bandages dominate your life. But *you* know how important it is!

I love the idea of a talk for teens. It's such a hard time in life. It can be so defining, too.
