I'd Really Love to See You Tonight

1) This song is about a guy who, out of the blue, phones an ex. Have you ever spontaneously phoned or emailed a former lover? Has an ex ever reached out to you? no

2) He suggests walking through the park, taking a drive along the beach, or watching TV. Do any of those suggestions appeal to you right now? they all sound pretty good although it's a dreary day for it

3) "England Dan" got his nickname because he was a passionate Beatles fan and would affect a British accent when he talked about his favorite group. Are you good at imitating accents? not at all

4) Dan met John Colley when they were high school classmates in Dallas. When they were still kids, they agreed that "John Ford Coley" would be a better stage name. Think back to your high school days. Which of your friends daydreamed along with you? Lee Ann

5) After the duo disbanded, "England Dan" went to Nashville, billed himself by his real name -- Dan Seals -- and recorded country music. Who is your favorite country performer? Wynona, Trisha, Faith, Shania, Dolly

6) Today John Ford Coley lives in TN. He performs occasionally and raises horses. Have you ever been to TN? no, but it's on my bucket list

7) In 1975, when this song was popular, Foster Grant Sunglasses had a suggested retail price of $5/pair. Do you buy sunglasses more for fashion or utility? utility

8) The most popular movie of 1975 was Jaws. Have you seen it? yes--it was intense and awesome!

9) Random question: Excluding anyone related to you by blood or marriage, what man are you closest to? probably my colleagues since I don't really socialize with many men--now that I think of it, that's really weird because I used to have a ton of male friends

I probably like all those singers, but couldn't recognize them without someone telling me who they are.

I wonder what the shift is from your boy friends (as opposed to boyfriends).

The most fun I've ever had watching Jaws was when we showed Jaws 3 (or was it 4?...well, it was the one in 3D) to the youth group for a fun, hangout night. We set up a screen at a family's home with an in-ground pool and the teens floated on rafts to watch it. I have to admit, half the fun was scaring them and watching them try to scare each other!

I shy away from men and try not to go to male doctors. I wonder if it's become a problem. Maybe. I shall have to contemplate. (P.S. I am still having problems posting to your blog. I have to go to Chrome to do it.)

I shared male friends with my hubby, since we were in the rock hound club together.
I have tried several times to watch Jaws. It never gets far. Even after watching the spoofs. It's so Iconic for the age! Darn!
TN is on my bucket list, too.

Speaking of accents....

One of the neighbors was drunk as usual at one of our block parties. He was introduced to another neighbor's guest who was from Austria.

"Fair dinkum, mate! Throw another shrimp on the barbie!"

Probably just as well he doesn't remember it.

I'm a pretty solitary sort, and since the bulk of RNs are women, don't even work around a lot of men. Funny, because in my previous profession as a technical writer (this was in the way long ago), I was the rarity, everyone else was male. These days I don't even really have friends, so it's a good thing hubs is around.

Today is a glorious day for the beach, no wind today but the surf is amazing with the storm off the coast.
