A book you bought for the cover, and discovered it was better than you thought: All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

A book that made you laugh and cry, and made you depressed: The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne the best book I read in 2018

A book that was a pleasant surprise: The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

A book everyone loves that you don’t: The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

A book with a great sidekick that you like more than the hero: a lot of Jill Mansell's books have wonderful secondary characters

A book that helped you through a difficult time: Knitting Rules! by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (better known as the Yarn Harlot)

A book that taught you something valuable: The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz

A book or series that it took you awhile to get into: Harry Potter--I didn't read the series until 2011 but once I picked them up, I couldn't put them down!

A fictional character you’d love to have to dinner. Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, my literary crush

The Four Agreements is a great book. I need to take those four items upon my wall.

I remember reading and enjoying "Secret Life of Bees" but today can't remember a thing about it.
