Brrr

1. Do you prefer winter or summer? Why?
I like the transition time--when the sweaters come out and then at the end of the season when the sweaters come off--I like summer because I'm on vacation

2. What are your favorite winter activities? napping, knitting, and reading

3. Can you tell me about a time you went skiing or skating? when I was in 7th grade, the community had an outdoor skating rink and the local AM radio station would broadcast from the warming hut--it was THE place to be on Sunday afternoons!

4. Have you ever made a snow angel? of course!

5. Is your house cold? not right now

6. Do you have a fireplace in your house? no, but I play the Netflix fireplace

7. What do you usually do to keep warm in the winter? layers

8. Have you ever gone hiking in the snow? no

9. Tell me about a snowball fight you had. I haven't had a snowball fight in probably 30 years

10. Have you ever looked at a snowflake carefully? yes, a micro photo I took is sometimes my phone wallpaper

11. Do you have a sled? Have you been sledding? we had a toboggan when I was a kid and we would pile on and sled down the hill, that was fun

12. What do you usually do after a big snowfall? swear while shoveling out my car

13. What’s the best thing about winter? the camaraderie of people who also hate winter

14. What’s the worst thing about winter? living in Maine

15. Have you ever been in a blizzard? regularly

16. Can you describe ice for me? when the world freezes over and becomes hard and scary

17. Have you ever slipped on ice and hurt yourself? many times

18.Have you ever had to shovel snow? regularly

19. Will you be watching the Olympics? I know I'll watch my former student Russel Currier as he vies for the biathlon gold!

20. If yes, what are your favorite events? well--I watched snowboarding last night and was completely blown away by the athleticism that takes! And the little peanut that won (he's 17!) is too adorable

  2. I didn't add in extra seasons, but if I had, autumn would be my favorite of all. I love when it's cool enough to bring out my sweaters and fleece pullovers. Spring is too wet and muddy...with my husband working on dug up construction sites, it means he comes home covered with mud. Oh, how I hate spring.

Watching snowboarding tonight and agree--that's one scary sport! I love the YOUNG kids who are involved!
