Ooh–good question! What books have you been required to read that you ended up loving?
I loved lovedloved Crime & Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky! That book rocked my 18-year-old world! I also loved reading Satre's The Wall in French. Oh--and I loved the Transcendentalists: Emerson and Thoreau. I didn't enjoy much of the other required reading like Thomas Hardy, William Faulkner, or Pearl Buck.
