14. What's your best Halloween memory? the Lions Club would have awesome costume parties at the local rec center
15. At what age were you allowed to go trick-or-treating by yourself? 7 or 8, but I had to follow my sisters and had a tight neighborhood to go to

I cracked up at the religious tracts comment. Just what every kid wants at Halloween, right? And Misery is such a great movie (and book).

I knock whatever wood I can find quite regularly too.

And yes, I've received some "your going to hell" paperwork on Halloween too. Yay. Way to make kids want to join your group!! lol

Annie Wilkes is a great choice.

My friends in the Keys inherited a very old, very temperamental cat. They gave her a loving home to the end of her days, but she only had use for one of her owners. The other? Screw him. (In all the years I visited them, that cat and I agreed that it would be best if I didn't try to touch her.) The one human she liked, she liked extravagantly. She followed him around, she slept on his head. Her name when they got her was Frances, but they changed it to "Annie Wilkes." It suited her perfectly.
