Great article about the brain processes of eye reading and audio listening. As Far As Your Brain Is Concerned, Audiobooks Are Not ‘Cheating’:
The TL;DR version of all of this is that as far as the mental processes are concerned, there really isn’t much difference between reading and listening to a book. One is not more work than the other.

So, the definitive answer to counting audio books in my yearly reading totals!

I've been counting my audio books into my reading list this year too! It's still reading as far as I am concerned

Interesting article. I don't listen to that many audio books, but I have found an app that offers lots of the classics in audio files, so I may start listening to more of them now, especially on long road trips.
