musing mondays

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• I’m currently reading…
• Up next I think I’ll read…
• I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
• I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
• I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
• I can’t wait to get a copy of…
• I wish I could read ___, but…
• I blogged about ____ this past week…

This week’s random question: Name your least favorite plot device employed by way too many books that you actually enjoyed, otherwise.

Hmmm, plot device that's employed by way too many books... The cliched secondary characters. Because they're secondary they sometimes don't get the development they deserve. And sometimes they are introduced to move the plot along--so they play a somewhat pivotal part of the story but they aren't very well developed. Characters for the sake of characters. I'm looking at YOU, Maggie Stiefvater!

Great question...and I like your answer. So true...and sometimes those cardboard cut-outs can ruin an otherwise good story.

Here is my MUSING MONDAYS POST

You do have a good point. I've noticed that with a couple of books that I ended up liking anyway.
