This week’s random question: So, apparently Amazon is now going to pay its Kindle Unlimited & Select authors by pages read. You can read more about this {here}. What do you think of this? Share your thoughts!
I don't have a Kindle.
Instead, I'll answer the "Up next I think I'll read" prompt: The Rocks by Peter Nichols, for my new reading group (I'm facilitating the discussion) and Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave

First time to hear about either of you books. I love reading groups and it is great you take such an active role in yours.
I have a kindle but don't have Kindle Unlimited.
My two cents? I am frustrated that the books available have become increasingly shorter. Sometimes books are split into three or more books. Now, I guess we know why!
Anyway, I think this new system will reward writers who can write well enough to hold a reader's attention for more than 30 pages- 300 pages seemingly being the average length of a book under the older system. It also may encourage writers to write longer books, which would be very nice.
