ten things tuesday

Linking up with Ten On Tuesday this week.

This week's topic is 10 Time Periods I Would Want to Visit If I Had A Hot Tub Time Machine.

1) The Roaring Twenties. Especially here in Northern Maine, to see what my grandparents' lives were like when they were young.

2) The 1960s. I'd love to observe my family and watch my mum, I have very few memories of her since she died in '72.

3) 1987. Especially the second half of the year when I lived in Ireland.

4) 1991. I'd redo the entire year. It was a good one.

5) 1993. The year my Virginia sister got married. It was full of travel and romance.

6) 1998-99. My first year teaching at this job. I would love to do it over, I'm a much better teacher now.

7) 12th Century England. The time surrounding Ken Follett's The Pillars Of The Earth.

8) 1750-70 Colonial New World. As an American History teacher, I'm fascinated by the decades leading up to the Revolutionary War.

9) 1880-1900 Gilded Age in America. Such an explosion in art, literature, technology, and science!

10) I'm not sure about the tenth place. Now that I'm thinking about it, I've got so many places to go and people to see!

I'd like the roaring 20's myself. Wouldn't that just be a hoot?

Pillars of the Earth was such a good book!! I think the roaring 20s would be fun, too. Only as an observer, though. Not sure I would want to live through either!

The 20s just sound like a fun time to visit! Let's go!

What a romantic question! I'd like to be a young adult in the 1960s, though not for long because I'm sure I'd have an FBI file and a police record in no time. The 1860s, too. (I wonder if the 2060s will follow the pattern and be as turbulent.)
