musing mondays

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying about it.
• What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

Now that it's December, I'm wrapping up my reading challenges for the year, and thinking about setting goals for next year. I'm on book 58 of the goal I set for 60 books and I have completed my goal of 12 audiobooks. I've had a great reading year--only one real dud. I'd like to set a lofty goal of 75 books but I need to be realistic. I'm lucky I can get 60. Maybe I'll stick with the same goal for next year. I've got a couple of weeks to think about it.

My goal is to accept fewer books for review and read more of the book I buy. I think I have enough to keep me busy for most of next year.

Glad to hear you had a great reading year!I say that as long as you're enjoying what you read, that matters more than how many books you read. Once reading starts to feel like it's something you need to cross off a list just to get it done--that's not a good thing!

60 is quite a lot of books to have read in a year! I actually took a break earlier this year from book blogging, because it became more of a burden rather than something I did for leisure. But now, I'm back with a heaping list of TBRs. Wish me luck :)

Thanks for sharing! Check out my MM post? http://characterized.blogspot.com/2014/12/musing-mondays-currently-reading.html
