Any books or authors you hate? Why? Is it the writing? The stories? The author’s personality? And—would you read their work anyway?

I expect to get flack for this but I do not care for Barbara Kingsolver's writing. I think she is w-a-y overrated. My dislike for her work started with The Poisonwood Bible, a novel that "everyone" raved about and loved. I love books where narrative point of view changes but I didn't find the sisters' voices to be authentic to the character. I was distracted by it. My reading groups tended to LOVE the book and love her writing. Not me.

I've read several books by her, mostly because of reading groups and haven't enjoyed them for various reasons. I just don't like her writing.
