saturday 9

1) This song refers to the summer breezes and winds of mid-July. Now that July is almost over, how would you describe this month's weather where you are? there were some high 80s with humidity, but generally it's been gorgeous

2) The lyrics mention the "perfect plans." Do you have plans for today? Or will you just let this summer Saturday unfold? I had breakfast with friends this morning, now I have nothing planned--it's just going to unfold

3) This week's artist, k. d. lang, attended Red Deer Community College in Alberta. Red Deer's school colors are green, black and silver. What were your school colors? my current school is maroon and gold

4) She had a bit part in the 2006 murder mystery The Black Dahlia. Do you enjoy murder mysteries? I am a fan

5) Ms. lang is a vegetarian. What's the last beef, chicken, pork or fish you ate? ham was part of my scrambled omelet this morning

6) In 2000, when this song was released, California suffered a series of blackouts. Has your power gone out this summer? just briefly

7) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also came out in 2000. Did you read it? yes! I love the Potter series

8) Which would you rather have on your hot dog: sauerkraut, ketchup/mustard/relish or chili? ketchup/mustard/relish

9) If you had your choice, which would you prefer: new shoes or a new wallet? I'm on a clothing moratorium until the end of the year so I will go with a wallet

Wow, you've already been out and about and I'm just getting up! Breakfast with friends sounds fun though!

I forgot we were going to a British car exhibit in the square of the next town over. Now we are just keeping cool at home.

Clothing moratorium? That sounds tough. Good luck!

The end of the YEAR?! Wow!

We're having all of the same weather as you this year so far: snow and more snow in the winter, and coolish (for here) summer temps. If only the scenery were as nice as you've got...

YIKES!!! That is a long moratorium. Good luck!

Is it closet space? Inquiring minds must content themselves with just the facts, I reckon.

Breakfast out sounds divine, especially with friends!

I had scrambled eggs with minced ham this morning, too.

I haven't bought any new clothes this summer, either. Except jeans, and those aren't seasonal. I'm learning slowly that there's a difference between what I buy because I need it, and what I buy because it's fun.
