musing mondays

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying about it.
• What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

I started listening to audiobooks after a Musings, and I'm so glad I did! But my question is: what do you do while listening to audiobooks? I hesitated to listen to audiobooks because I knew if I listened while puttering around, I would tune it out. But since I started knitting, my hands are busy but I can listen without my brain interrupting the book. I haven't tried listening while driving. That's up for my April road trip.

I've been listening to audiobooks on my commute to and from work M-F--that's about 2 hours each day. I've definitely had to train my mind not to wander, but now I'm in the habit and really enjoy it. I don't think I'd enjoy listening as much on shorter trips, though--too much starting and stopping. I can see how something like knitting would really compliment audiobooks well--too bad I'm missing the crafting gene!
